Kitty of the Month

This beautiful girl is Mimi.  She started out her life as a spunky little kitten in need of rescue and we were lucky enough to take her in.  She blossomed into a precious young girl who found a home in no time - then things changed for her.  Her forever home was no more.  Her guardian fell on hard times and couldn't care for her anymore.  
After 9 years, she was returned to us.
Oh my! What a sad sight she was. She was emaciated, covered in flea dermatitis with plenty of fleas still in residence, and so very upset to not have her home anymore.

Luckily, we have a very good rehabilitator and off Mimi went.  Mimi has been restored.  Of course, her fleas are gone and her skin and coat glow with good health.  She eats well so her precious little body is filling out slightly.  
Most important is that Mimi's faith in humans has been restored.  She's affectionate, playful and good natured again.  She has even become a tolerant companion to the resident dog.
Mimi is no longer a young kitty but you couldn't tell from her playful and affectionate nature.  She's intelligent and inquisitive. She's very comfortable being the only cat.
